Yellowjackets Season 2 Photo Unveils First Look at Elijah Wood

Showtime has revealed another new photo from the forthcoming second season of Yellowjackets. The coming-of-age horror drama is slated to make its return on March 24.

The Yellowjackets Season 2 photo provides us with our first look at citizen detective Walter, who is being portrayed by Lord of the Rings vet Elijah Wood. He is accompanied by fellow former ’90s child star Christina Ricci, who is returning as adult Misty.

Yellowjackets currently stars Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Steven Krueger, and Warren Kole. Season 2 will introduce Emmy-nominated actress Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under, Servant) as adult Van Palmer, Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi) as adult Lottie, and Elijah Wood as citizen detective Walter.

“Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story, and coming-of-age drama, it tells the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness,” reads the series synopsis. “The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.”

Yellowjackets is created and executive produced by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. Executive producers are Drew Comins, Karyn Kusama, and Jonathan Lisco, who is also serving as the showrunner. It is produced by Entertainment One.
