K-pop group Big Ocean, widely recognized as the first hard-of-hearing idol group, made an appearance in Times Square on August 25 as Wonderama, America’s longest-running children’s television show, and global creator platform FENIX360 celebrated the launch of their new partnership at the inaugural Wonder Games.
Big Ocean joined Wonderama hosts Chuck Armstrong, known to viewers as Chuckie, Alisa Obrivanova and David Osmond for the Times Square festivities, adding the trio’s profile as barrier-breaking performers to a day built around inclusion and accessibility. The Wonder Games, staged under the theme “The Games Everyone Can Play,” brought together family programming, live music, creator showcases and competitive esports exhibitions in partnership with the Empire State Scholastic Esports Federation and AbleGamers, with support from the Times Square Alliance and One Times Square/Jamestown.
The event also marked FENIX360’s debut as a launch partner for Wonder Games, positioning the platform at the center of the day’s mission to spotlight emerging musicians, artists, performers and digital creators. As part of the collaboration, Wonderama and FENIX360 are transforming Times Square into a launchpad for new talent, giving creators the opportunity to perform before a national audience while extending their reach through FENIX360’s global creative community long after the event concludes.
Big Ocean’s appearance underscores the day’s broader message of accessibility and representation. The trio — the first K-pop act built around hard-of-hearing performers — has built its identity around Korean Sign Language performance and has been recognized internationally, including as a Billboard K-Pop Rookie of the Month and on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia list.
