Those itching to get into Team Junkfish’s dinosaur survival horror title Wilderdark today will unfortunately have to wait one more week, as the devs have pushed the release back a week to November 10. If you can’t wait, you can at least jump back into the demo for Wilderdark, which is fresh from the recent Steam Next Fest.
Per the devteam’s post, the reason for the delay is due to some “final processes” taking longer than the team initially anticipated. “We know this is not the update you were hoping for and we deeply apologise for the delay,” says the team in the statement. “We appreciate the patience of our community as we iron out these final processes.”
Wilderdark is a survival horror exploration game where you find yourself on an unnatural island infected with a mysterious ectoparasitic organism which has corrupted the dinosaurs and plantlife. Sent in by the organization you work for in search of immortality, you are tasked with documenting the island’s ecosystem, collecting samples and discovering the fate of the previously vanished expeditions—including one led by your own parents.
After crash-landing on the island with only minimal resources to survive, every one of your steps matters in this tense and atmospheric world, where stealth is key and even the smallest sound can attract the attention of deadly apex predators. The island is crawling with danger, including grotesque, parasite-infected dinosaurs. To uncover the truth, players will need to carefully observe their surroundings, document discoveries through photography, and craft essential tools from whatever they can find. It’s a constant balancing act: use resources wisely, stay out of sight, and think one step ahead of the island’s relentless hunters.
Wilderdark will now be launching on the 10th of November 2026.We know this is not the update you were hoping for and we deeply apologise for the delay. We appreciate the patience of our community as we iron out these final processes. (1/2)
