Today meteorologist Al Roker celebrated his son Nick’s bittersweet milestone with new personal photos.
On Saturday, August 29, the weather and feature anchor and third-hour co-host took to Instagram with a trio of photos featuring his adult son, whom he shares with his wife, ABC journalist Deborah Roberts. Nick, 24, has autism spectrum disorder.
“Another drop off for my young man, @nickroker155,” the NBC journalist captioned his update. “Gonna miss him but as Al Roker, Sr. always said, #cantmissyouifyoudontleave So very proud of him.”
For the featured image, Nick smiled as he stood in his dorm room. A second shot showed him posing next to his bed, while the third and final picture showed Al, 72, smiling in a selfie with his son.
Deborah, 65, also celebrated their son’s moment, writing on her own Instagram grid, “It’s that time. And the first back to college move that I’ve missed. But proud of the boys for getting Nick set up! Well done! Wishing you a fabulous year @nickroker155! (Wonder how long the room will stay clean?).”
In the comments of Al’s post, followers joined him in celebrating Nick’s milestone and wished him luck. One Instagram user wrote, “That’s [an] amazing proud dad moment.”

Al and Deborah have been married since 1995. In addition to Nick, the Today star has two daughters: Leila, 27, with Roberts; and Courtney, 39, with his late ex-wife, Alice Bell. Al is also a grandfather to Courtney’s daughter, Sky, 3.
