Todd Chrisley is sharing his honest memories of learning about Savannah Chrisley’s new man for the first time.
“He’s 20 years older, and it was not something I embraced because, I mean, to the point that I had a choice to make,” Todd, 57, shared on the Thursday, October 29, episode of the “Dumb Blonde” podcast. “It was either embrace my daughter’s decision or lose my daughter, and nothing is ever coming between me and my daughter.”
He continued, “I love Savannah with my heart and soul, but did I advocate for this? No, but I will tell you that he has treated her with the utmost respect.”
Earlier this week, Savannah, 29, announced on her “Unlocked” podcast that she is pregnant and expecting her first baby with her fiancé, whom she refers to as Jason. (Us later exclusively revealed the man is Jason Galanis.)
“I’m tickled to death and can’t hardly wait to get my grand baby,” Todd told podcast host Bunnie Xo. “I cannot wait to hold this baby.”
The former Chrisley Knows Best seemingly acknowledged the critics who were judging Savannah and Jason’s nearly 27-year age difference.
Todd teased that he thinks “all of the haters that have commented about Savannah’s life are going to go back and start deleting when she releases the next part of her story next week.”
“[He] went through a very difficult time in his life,” he continued. “He came to me. He asked for her hand in marriage, and I said to him, ‘You do understand that she may be the only love that you claim you’ve ever had, but you won’t be her only love.’ And he said, ‘Well, it’s my job while I am to make sure she never forgets it.’”
While sitting down with his wife, Julie Chrisley, Todd also remembered Savannah’s ex-fiancé, Nic Kerdiles, who died in September 2023 from a motorcycle crash at the age of 29.
“Although I loved Nic and Nic was my chosen one and was the greatest kid, one of the greatest kids in the world,” Todd shared, “I would rather have my daughter’s happiness than someone else.”
Before the podcast episode came to an end, Todd teased that his daughter will likely have more news to share in the coming weeks.
When asked if Savannah could already be married, the “Chrisley Confessions” podcast host stayed mum.
“You have all these comments saying, ‘She’s having a child out of wedlock.’ Is she? Is she having a child out of wedlock?” he asked. “At the end of the day, Savannah’s story is her story to tell. Do we know everything? Yes, we’re her parents.”
