Robin Williams‘ family is speaking out on what would’ve been his 75th birthday.
On Instagram, in the first update made to the actor’s account since 2014, Robin’s three kids Zak, Zelda, and Cody, shared a post talking about their dad’s birthday. They also wrote about how “technology” is evolving, and seemingly hinted at the future of Robin’s socials:
“As we recognize what would be our Dad’s 75th year, we’re grateful to see new generations discovering his work while longtime fans continue to celebrate the joy he brought into their lives. As technology evolves, we want this to be a safe, trusted place where the stories, photos, videos, and memories shared reflect his legacy with authenticity, warmth, and care.”

Of course, celebrities in particular have been a HUGE part of the recent uptick in AI usage. It seems like the actor’s kids are dedicated to keeping his page to his real life, not any of those phony stories and photos that come out about so many celebs. What a beautiful thing to do in his memory!
Continuing, they wrote:
“This is our way of sharing his unique talent and humor with the world, including the moments that made us and so many of you laugh, as we remember our Dad’s extraordinary life and work. He continues to inspire us and delight people all over the world.

In the comments, fans reacted:
“He was really an incredible person and I’m sure even in 100 years people will still watch his movies, laugh and cry because of them. There will never be a second Robin Williams, as sad as that may be but it’s a testament of how special he truly was.”
“Hope this means we’ll never see or hear an AI Robin”
“I will always consider myself extremely lucky and blessed to have experienced your dad’s comedic genius during my lifetime. Thank you for the laughter”
“He is so missed by all of us, and I know even so much more by all of you. Thanks for keeping his legacy front and center and sharing it with us.”
“Thank you for continually sharing your father with all of us. We are so incredibly lucky to have had his spirit in the world.”
“This was a delight to see while scrolling. Looking forward to it.”
“Thank you for this. I always end up searching for videos of him whenever I’m sad. Nobody can put a smile on my face like your dad. He’s still spreading his gift everywhere.”
We can’t believe Robin would’ve been 75. He is deeply missed every day. Sending warmth to his family.
