Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey were once among the hottest couples in Hollywood.
The “Irresistible” singer and the 98 Degrees member tied the knot in October 2002 after four years of dating. Though the pair were already known as an “It” couple, they reached a new level of fame with their 2003 MTV reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica — but things soon went downhill.
Simpson and Lachey called it quits in November 2005, with the Dukes of Hazzard actress filing for divorce the following month. Their split was finalized in June 2006.
Years later, Simpson got candid about their breakup in her 2020 memoir, Open Book, writing that they “got crushed by the media and by ourselves.” She also called Lachey her “first love.”
Simpson and Lachey both married other people after their divorce — the former tied the knot with Eric Johnson in 2014, while the latter married wife Vanessa Lachey in 2011. Simpson and Johnson called it quits in January 2025. One year later, Us Weekly confirmed Simpson moved on with Nashville-based musician Thomas Eisenhood.

“It was strangely OK,” he said. “You know, it’s been 20 years, and so we hadn’t seen each other in those 20 years and then spent six and a half hours on a flight to Hawaii together. When I say ‘spent,’ [I mean] in the same vicinity. Everyone was very cordial, very respectful. It was honestly … it was fine.”
