Taylor Swift has announced a new six-part docuseries chronicling her record-breaking “The Eras Tour.” The first two episodes will premiere on Disney+ on December 12th, with two additional episodes dropping weekly over the following two weeks.
That same day (December 12th), Disney+ will also debut Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – The Final Show, a new concert film capturing Swift’s full farewell “Eras Tour” performance at BC Place in Vancouver on December 8th, 2024. Unlike her 2023 Eras Tour concert film, this performance footage includes material from her 2024 album, The The Tortured Poets Department.
“It was the End of an Era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety,” Swift wrote in a social media post announcing the pair of releases.
Consequence recently named Swift’s “The Eras Tour” as the seventh greatest concert of all time. Among its many accolades, it ranks as the highest grossing tour of all time, including the first to earn over $2 billion in revenue, and set a number of venue attendance records.
News of Swift’s docuseries and concert film follows the release of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. The singer has already ruled out touring behind this new release, telling BBC Radio 1 in a recent interview, “I’m just gonna be really honest with you, I am so tired, like when I think about doing it again. Because I want to do it really well… again. You know?”
