Doctor Doom and Invisible Woman are joining the fight against Annihilus. Tribute Games has announced the new Marvel Cosmic Invasion DLC ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.
Titled The Siege of Castle Doom, the DLC will add Fantastic Four’s Sue Storm and Doctor Doom as two playable characters. The paid expansion will also introduce a new game mode centered on Doom.
The new trailer shows the MCU’s newest threat fighting alongside the superheroes.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion’s roster grows to 17 playable heroes
The new DLC will increase the game’s roster from 15 to 17 playable characters. Much of the game’s art direction is inspired by the visual style of 90s comic books.
The lineup already includes familiar Marvel heroes such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man, Nova, Storm, and the obscure ones like Phyla-Vell, Silver Surfer, and Beta Ray Bill. It continues with Black Panther, Venom, She-Hulk, Rocket Raccoon, Cosmic Ghost Rider, and Phoenix.
Cyclops and Thing were added during the game’s first DLC earlier this year, while the latest one adds Sue Storm and Doom. Per a press release, Susan is added as The Invisible Woman with abilities inspired by her comic powers. Her abilities include manipulation and force fields, giving new options during combat. This also marks the addition of another Fantastic Four member after Thing.
She is the new adversary in the upcoming MCU movie. Doom will use his advanced armor, technological weapons, and occult abilities while bringing his intellect to the battle against Annihilus and the Annihilation Wave. The developers have not unveiled additional details on the new game mode, which takes players to Doom’s headquarters.
The trailer lands as Marvel fans look ahead to Avengers: Doomsday, which keeps Doom in the spotlight ahead of the December 18 release. The new DLC, meanwhile, arrives on November 10.
