The Most Dangerous Lies Come From the People Closest to You— award winning filmmaker Harley Wallen’s and Painted Creek Productions, Psychological Horror feature Fathers” starring Kaiti Wallen (Beneath Us All), Jerry Hayes (Ash and Bone), Deon Hunt (Finding Nicole),Emilia Linnea (Tale of Tails) and (playing the young version of Natalie with Harley Wallen (Betrayed), himself rounding out the main cast. Sets Premiere Date
We’re excited to premiere Fathers on May 28th at the historic Laemmle Theatre in Encino, with a wide release following on June 2nd, just ahead of Father’s Day.
Father’s Day felt like the right moment—because this film challenges the idea that the people we trust most are always who we believe them to be.
At its core, Fathers is about influence—how it’s built, how it’s abused, and how easily truth can be reshaped when it comes from someone we’re conditioned to trust. The most dangerous deception isn’t the one we see coming—it’s the one that feels familiar.
We’re living in a time where perception often replaces truth, and narratives are shaped as much by emotion as by fact. This story leans into that discomfort. It asks the audience to question not just what they’re seeing, but why they believe it in the first place.
Releasing it around Father’s Day adds another layer—it turns what is traditionally a moment of celebration into something more reflective, even unsettling. Because sometimes, the foundation we stand on isn’t as solid as we think.”
Said Harley Wallen who wrote and co produced with his wife Kaiti and Jeff Berry (Final Recovery), Leslie Mechigian (Chasing Hope), Joseph Williamson (The Devils Left Hand), Jason Faucher (Beneath Us All), Bradford Clark (Birth of a Savage) and Joseph Quick (If I Can’t Have You) with Unorthodox Outcast Studios and Deon Hunt (Finding Nicole) of Hunt Genesis Production.
In a world shaped by influence and hidden agendas, Fathers follows a tangled web of trust, manipulation, and deception—where the line between protector and predator begins to blur. As truths unravel and loyalties are tested, one question lingers: what happens when the people meant to guide us are the ones leading us astray
Distributor One Tree Entertainment is thrilled to release on digital platforms across the US and Canada from 2nd June.
