Long before the temperatures rise above 20°C and travel plans are booked, I’m scoping out the season’s swimsuit trends. It’s my way of getting through the wall of grey winter skies and now, summer has finally arrived. I’ve had time to analyse what’s emerged in the swimwear category this year and what the fashion set are adding to their beachwear rotations. Unsurprisingly, they’re all incredibly chic.
These 2025 swimsuit trends have led to a few new additions to my own summer wardrobe. Whilst I’m typically a minimalist at heart, these different cuts, strap configurations, and patterns have swayed me into trying something brand new. If your own swimwear drawer needs an upgrade for the season, take a look at the following six elegant swimsuit trends that are setting the tone for poolside wear—plus, all the spots where you can buy these swimsuits, from luxury brands to high-street strongholds.
2025 Swimsuit Trends to Wear This Summer:
1. Bold-Patterned One-Pieces
Style Notes: Solid-coloured one pieces are staples, of course, but Courtney’s vibrant patterned swimsuit has convinced me to add a little more visual interest to my swimwear. With something playful and bold like this, accessories can remain minimal. Plus, it makes your swimsuit double as the perfect top for holidays. Wear it with a long skirt or linen trousers.

ZARA

2. One-Shoulder Swimsuits
Style Notes: This fresh take on the classic two-strap swimsuit still gives you more support than bandeau styles and looks eternally chic. You can wear this silhouette with wrap skirts, shorts, jeans and linen trousers. I also can’t think of a better hue than Kellie’s bright white pick, which fits into any suitcase lineup perfectly.

3. Striped Swimwear
Style Notes: As far as patterns go, stripes are eternal—and they’re having a serious renaissance in different colours that make them feel fresh. Nautical white stripes on red and navy are classics, but I’m a fan of Karina’s purple swimsuit, which blends two trends: one-shoulder swimsuits and stripes. It’s the perfect statement that still slots neatly into your summer capsule wardrobe.
