The much anticipated “Saw X” has completed filming, much to the joy of followers of the well-known horror series. The new movie marks a return to the series’ beginnings and revisits the legacy of the legendary figure John Kramer, aka Jigsaw. It is directed by Kevin Greutert, the brains behind “Saw VI” and “Saw: The Final Chapter.” Shawnee Smith joins the franchise, and Tobin Bell reprises his role as Kramer.
With rumors of a supernatural resurrection swirling, fans of the franchise have started wondering about how Kramer could be revived. Kramer’s reappearance will be a “blood-spitting beast of a story,” according to Greutert. The director’s remarks and the presence of the outstanding prosthetics crew from Fractured FX have further fueled the fire of fan excitement even though the plot is still a mystery.
Renata Vaca, Paulette Hernandez, Joshua Okamoto, Octavio Hinojosa, Synnve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, and Michael Beach round out the cast with Bell and Smith. Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, seasoned writers with a track record in the franchise, wrote the script.
According to Lionsgate, “Saw X” will include all-new secrets and traps in addition to the beloved elements of the previous films in the franchise. Fans can get ready for a violent reboot of the franchise on October 27, 2023, just in time for Halloween.
