Global Citizen has announced the 10th anniversary of its Global Citizen Festival, which takes place on September 24 in two cities. One event takes place in New York’s Central Park, and the lineup includes Metallica, Rosalía, Mariah Carey, Mickey Guyton, Charlie Puth, Jonas Brothers, and Måneskin. The other takes place at Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana and will feature performances from Usher, SZA, Stormzy, Tems, H.E.R., Gyakie, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy.
The event will air on ABC, FX, Hulu, iHeartRadio, YouTube, Twitter, TimesLive, and more. The festival is urging world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly ahead of the G20 and COP27 to “invest $600 million into the future of women and girls, close the annual $10 billion climate financing shortfall, deliver $500 million to help African farmers respond to the global food crisis, and provide urgent relief from crushing debts to end extreme poverty now.”
