The highly popular K-pop boy band Stray Kids has been making waves all around the world with their music. The Korean boy group, consisting of eight members, including Bang Chan, Changbin, Lee Know, Hyunjin, Felix, Han, I.N., and Seungmin, has now made history by landing on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
On November 20, 2023, Billboard declared that Stray Kids’ latest title song, LALALALA, from their 2023 album, ROCK-STAR, has ranked No. 90 on Billboard’s weekly ranking chart of the most popular songs in the U.S. It marks the boy band’s official debut on the Billboard Hot 100. This achievement also makes them the 2nd K-pop boy group to join Billboard’s Hot 100 after BTS.
Stray Kids become the first 4th Generation K-pop boy band to enter Billboard Hot 100
Entering the Billboard Hot 100 list is undoubtedly a significant moment in Stray Kids’ career as they are the first 4th generation Korean boy band to reach this milestone. Furthermore, on November 25, 2023, their track LALALALA took the No. 10 spot on the Global 200 chart and was ranked No. 6 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. list.
Previously, their mini album, ROCK-STAR, landed at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, which made it their 4th consecutive album to get the top position in the list following their three other albums, ODDINARY, MAXIDENT, and 5-STAR. It is quite noteworthy that Stray Kids is the first boy band to have all four of their albums debut at the top of Billboard’s 200 in sixteen years. They are also the first K-pop group to accomplish this feat.
On top of that, it took them under twenty months to successfully make four No. 1 albums, which makes them the fastest artist to earn this position, following Taylor Swift. Recently, the group took the stage of the 2023 Billboard Music Awards by storm with their performances on their hit songs LALALALA and S-Class. They also went on to win the top K-pop album award for 5-STAR.
Fans can watch their performance at the 2023 BBMAs on Billboard’s official social media channels.
