‘World War Z’ 10th Anniversary 4K Ultra HD Release

Scream Factory, a company specializing in horror and sci-fi home entertainment, has revealed that they are planning to release a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray edition of the action-horror film, World War Z, which celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year.

World War Z comes to 4K Ultra HD on July 18, 2023, but you can pre-order it here today.

Directed by Marc Forster and starring Brad Pitt, the movie is based on the 2006 novel of the same name by Max Brooks and depicts a global zombie pandemic that threatens to wipe out humanity. The movie was a box office success, grossing over $540 million worldwide, and received positive reviews for its intense action sequences and Pitt’s performance.

The upcoming 4K UHD + Blu-ray release is expected to provide fans with a superior viewing experience, featuring improved picture quality and enhanced sound, making it a must-have for any horror enthusiast’s collection.

Will we see a World War Z 2?

The fate of the highly anticipated sequel, World War Z 2, has been uncertain since it was officially put on hold in 2019 due to budgetary issues. Despite the fervent hopes of fans, the project remains stuck in pre-production, encountering obstacles and delays along the way.

Regrettably, it seems that the movie will continue to be mired in limbo for the foreseeable future, as several factors have conspired to prevent it from moving forward. Nevertheless, there is still a glimmer of hope that World War Z 2 will eventually be revived, though it may be a long and arduous journey before that happens.

Marc Forster, while speaking to The Digital Fix also left the fans saddened with his update on the next installment. He said, “In regard to World War Z 2 – I don’t think that sequel is coming anytime soon.” Unfortunately, with both Paramount and Forster stepping back from the sequel, horror movie fans of World War Z are currently out of luck.
