The Last Drive-In Revs Up The Terror April 21st

The name Joe Bob Briggs is spoken with only the highest admiration within the horror community. Joe Bob and his cohost Darcy the mail girl (Diana Prince) managed to keep the drive-in alive for yet another year.

For those of you who may be unaware, Joe Bob and Darcy graciously provide us with two live-streamed movies on Shudder each week during the season. Joe Bob gifts us with his amazing backstories and anecdotes about the films instead of traditional commercials.

We laugh, we cry, and most importantly we walk away with more horror knowledge than we started with. While we never truly know what the team has in store for us. Joe Bob was kind enough to provide us with a cryptic tweet about the upcoming season.

It looks like Joe Bob and Darcy are giving us the traditional holiday specials, as well as Walpurgisnacht part 2.

This season also comes with a change to the original formula. This season will split into two blocks of five double features instead of running ten episodes in a row. Rejoice, fans over at AMC+! Another change this season is coming your way.

Both platforms will be airing The Last Drive-In live at 9 PM EST for the first time ever. No more creeping downstairs like a child on Christmas morning every Sunday. Now AMC+ fans will be able to join the Mutant Army with Darcy on Twitter as we all groan at the inevitable horrible film Joe Bob loves to throw in once a year.

The Last Drive-In

This new season of terror excites me beyond measure. Who knows what special segments or guests we may see this year.

The Last Drive-In creates a sense of community like no other horror program currently running. Darcy’s ability to live tweet during the showings has created something special in the community. If you aren’t already make sure to follow Darcy over on Twitter @ kinkyhorror to participate in the live stream. I know I will be there each week, and I hope to see all of you as well.

As Joe Bob always says, “The drive-in can never die. “If you want to see what Joe Bob and Darci have brought us in the past, you can find it here. Remember to check back here each week for new updates on The Last Drive-in as well as all things horror.
