Evil Dead Rise is taking the horrors of the Necronomicon to the city. The teaser and poster that we received yesterday already sent shivers up our spine. There is something about the evil getting into the matriarch of the family that is absolutely chilling. Especially since the kids are innocent enough to believe that their mom is just feeling sick or under the weather. Meanwhile, she is a cackling crone waiting to get out to eat the flesh from their bones.

Lee Cronin’s latest film looks absolutely chilling in the latest trailer. The original Evil Dead remake was a great return to the franchise but this feels much different and sits nicely on the line between Evil Dead and Demons 2. Best of all both Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are on as producers.

The synopsis for Evil Dead Rise goes like this:
Two sisters find themselves in a fight for their lives when an ancient book gives birth to bloodthirsty demons that run amok in a Los Angeles apartment building.
The film stars Alyssa Sutherland as Ellie, Lily Sullivan as Beth, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, Mia Challis as Jessica, Tai Wano, Jayden Daniels Billy and Reynolds-McCarthy.
Evil Dead Rise arrives in theaters beginning April 21.
