Steven Soderbergh and Eddie Alcazar team up for the truly bonkers and brilliant-looking Divinity. The trailer for the film gives us heavy Darren Aronofsky’s Pye vibes. All while adding its very unique flavor of body horror and some very cool stop-motion animation fight scenes. We are totally impressed with what we are looking at here and can’t wait to find out more.
Alcazar’s previous film, Perfect was another film that was a visual vista of brilliance. All while introducing us to body horror via plastic surgery reaching an entire new zenith. If you like what you see here and can’t wait to see more, I highly suggest you seek out Alcazar’s Perfect.
The synopsis for Divinity goes like this:
Set in an otherworldly human existence, scientist Sterling Pierce dedicated his life to the quest for immortality, slowly creating the building blocks of a groundbreaking serum named “Divinity.” Jaxxon Pierce, his son, now controls and manufactures his father’s once-benevolent dream. Society on this barren planet has been entirely perverted by the supremacy of the drug, whose true origins are shrouded in mystery. Two mysterious brothers arrive with a plan to abduct the mogul, and with the help of a seductive woman named Nikita, they will be set on a path hurtling toward true immortality.
