We love a good international crime murder mystery situation. Many other people do, too, as Netflix’s Woman of the Dead debuted on January 5th and has been near the top of its charts ever since. This surprising gem is currently hanging out at number 3 in the TV ( Non-English) category in the Netflix Global Top 10 Chart.
Netflix describes the series as a “story about the lengths a passionate woman will go to for vengeance after her husband’s death and the tug-of-war between good and evil that exists in all of us.”
Woman of the Dead is based on a book of the same name written by Bernhard Aichner. It is directed by Nicolai Rohde. The cast includes Anna Maria Mühe, Yousef ‘Joe’ Sweid, and Luis Vorbach.
Because the source material went on to become a trilogy, some fans are hopeful that Netflix will give us another season of the Austrian crime thriller. Who can blame them? I mean, what is better than six tight episodes of a woman causing mayhem as she kills her way to answers? Viewers have taken to Twitter to recommend the show and sing Woman of the Dead’s praises.

Woman of the Dead is a great murder mystery with legit surprising story turns and an awesome lead character. I dig it. Shows currently available on Netflix and don't worry, first seasons a complete story.

Just finished watching The Woman of the Dead, a crime, drama, mystery on Netflix. Set in Austria, German with English subtitles. It had me on the edge of my seat, with my heart beating at a rate of knots..not easy watching but compelling & gripping.

I am watching the austrian show about a “woman of the dead” which first looked to be a bleak meditation on blah blah & then looked to be a wry mortician comedy but is really about a woman who kills a lot of guys

I do not know about you, but they had me with the Tru Calling and Pushing Daisies references to describe a lady doing a little light serial killing. It’s like Netflix read my diary. However, if you need more convincing then you can check out the trailer below.
Let me know if you have already watched Woman of the Dead on Netflix at @misssharai. I’m adding it to my queue as you read this.
