Brace Yourselves Uglies: Halfway to Halloween is Almost Here

I could write endlessly about my adoration for iconic The Boulet Brothers and the vivacious Ian DeVoglaer. From their fierce wigs to the tip of their stilettos, which rests gently on a pile of dead bodies, Swanthula and Dracmorda demand our full attention.

However, I am sure you aren’t here for my obsessive fanfiction. If you are, then this is the wrong website. You are here for news about the upcoming Halfway to Halloween special premiering April 25th!

Our Queens of horror are currently performing the Dragula Titans Live tour across the country. For those of us who unfortunately don’t get to have our souls consumed by The Boulet Brothers live, this special will hopefully fill the void in us until the next season of Dragula airs.

Not only do we get to experience The Boulet Brothers in all of their glory. They are providing us with amazing guest appearances by co-producer David Dastmalchian (Suicide Squad), Kevin Smith (Tusk), Emily Hampshire (Schitt’s Creek), Taran Killam (SNL), Mathew Lillard (Scream), Jorge Garcia (Lost), Steve Agree (Peacemaker), Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Katya (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Derek Mears (Friday the 13th).

If that doesn’t satiate your desire of all things depraved, some Dragula alumni are also making an appearance. The magnificent Kendri Onix, Koco Caine and Melissa Befierce will be joining the cast as well. All of this and the musical stylings of Twin temple, what more could us uglies ask for?

No one knows exactly what to expect form The Boulet Brothers, excluding that fact that someone will inevitably end up dead. We do have some hints from the most recent episode of their podcast Creatures of The Night.

While discussing the upcoming special Dracmorda and Swanthula gave audiences some hints of what to expect. They are calling the special a throwback to the holiday specials of the eighties. Only instead of them haunting us well into our adult years, looking at you Star Wars, I have no doubt this will be a spectacular event. We are expecting all of the drag, filth, glamour, and horror that we have come to crave.

This is the first scripted television project that The Boulet Brothers have attempted so far. We can only hope there are many more to come. Will this special have the same raw and viciousness that has made Dragula so iconic? Tune into Shudder and AMC+ April on 5th to find out!

If you want to see what else Swanthula and Dracmorda have been working on, check here. As always, make sure to check back here at I-horror for updates on The Boulet Brothers, as well as all things horror.
