Xbox’s Gears of War is one of the system’s best performers next to Halo. The series of games has become more impressive through the game’s remasters and sequels. Now, Netflix has the rights and they plan on bringing the post-apocalyptic alien-ravaged world to life in a film and animated series.
The news drops on November 7 aka Emergence Day. For those who have played the game, Emergence Day was the day that the deadly Locust Tribe invaded Earth’s cities. The Coalition, the team behind Gears of War, is set to pair up with Netflix in order to bring the action to the screen.
The potential of a Gears of War film could be spectacular if done and cast well. Marcus Phoenix who plays the game’s protagonist must be perfectly captured and performed.
The synopsis for Gears of War goes like this:
“The game follows protagonist Marcus Fenix, a soldier in the Coalition of Ordered Governments tasked to lead a last-ditch effort to destroy the Locust Horde and save humanity.“
There still aren’t any producers or writers attached but according to Deadline, Netflix intends to make this project a priority. So, we should see that bracket of names fill up fast.
