It’s that time of the week when we start narrowing down which horrific goodies might be part of our weekend viewing plans. We’re craving movies with twists so huge our jaws are still on the floor from the first time we saw them. With that in mind, we’ve come up with five movies on Netflix that are a ride!
The Boy
A nanny discovers that she’s been hired to look after a life-size doll. However, she soon realizes there is something way more sinister at hand. I almost tapped out of this movie and am so glad I didn’t. When the twist happened, my jaw dropped. I took a day to recover. The sequel is also on Netflix if you’re a finisher. However, it’s not as spicy.
His House (2020)
A young refugee couple escapes to England and finds themselves haunted in their new home. When the reveal happens, we realize we don’t know this couple as well as we thought we did. This is possibly one of the most underrated movies of 2020. It is also probably my favorite movie on Netflix at any given hour.
I See You (2019)
A family on the verge of collapse begins to experience weird events in their home. This popular thriller is packing two major twists, one of which got by me. This movie does delve into sexual assault, so it needs a content warning.

The Perfection (2019)
A former prodigy returns to the school she left to meet the newest star pupil to rise in her place. This movie is at least three or four twists in a trenchcoat. However, one of those twists involves sexual assault, so it also needs a trigger warning.
Psycho (1960)
This suspenseful thriller stars Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins. The killer reveal had audiences’ jaws on the floor when it came out. It’s still talked about today as one of the most celebrated twists in the genre.
