Fashion’s most stylish couple are about to become parents.

The Fenty empire is expanding but we’re not talking business — we’re talking baby! Rihanna is expecting her first child with partner A$AP Rocky, and she just announced it in the most fashionably Rihanna way possible. We’re talking straight up vintage Chanel, a blinged out belly, and street style photos to prove it.
After months (and years, to be honest) of pregnancy gossip circulating, the question of “Is she or isn’t she?” was finally settled when celebrity fashion photographer, Diggzy, shut rumours all the way down with an Instagram photo of Riri baring her baby belly captioned “SHE IS!”
As the couple took to the streets of New York City to make their debut as soon-to-be parents, Diggzy captured the moment in a series of on-brand street style photos.
The expecting mother looked like an ethereal beauty in a long vintage Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld pink silk puffer coat from the FW 1996 collection bound only by a single Gripoix button to allow for her baby bump and the rest of her streetwear-meets-opulence look to show. A bejewelled vintage Christian Lacroix pendant necklace paired with pearls rests on her belly, with some fans pointing out a potential pop-culture allusion to Madonna’s Like a Prayer album cover.
A Chanel logo leather and gold chain belt is woven through a pair of distressed wide-leg jeans, accessorized with a gold Rolex watch and a vintage Briony Raymond chunky signet ring. Leave it to Riri to make a maternity fit a moment. As for A$AP, the Fashion Killa rapper sported a knitted hoodie beneath a Carhartt jean jacket styled with baggy leather pants.
As one Twitter user put it, ‘How fitting for Rih to announce her pregnancy via a street style pic!!’ They are, after all, arguably the most stylish couple in the game. Their relationship timeline dates back to 2012 and is filled with musical collaboration, friendship, rumoured love, real love, and now parenthood.
Their first red carpet appearance as an official couple was at the 2021 Met Gala (Rihanna wore Balenciaga and A$AP Rocky wore a thrifted quilt) but it’s not at the steps of the Met where this pair acquired their collectively iconic style status — it’s in the streets.
A faux-fur moment
Just days before the big reveal, Rihanna wore a cobalt blue Martine Rose windbreaker paired with a faux-fur trimmed Saint Laurent mini skirt and strappy heels. A$AP went for an all black look with an Alyx Studio Fall 2022 faux-fur coat and black trousers
Rocking red
Here, Riri opts for a cherry red Balenciaga parka, a Martine Rose football shirt matched with Miu Miu gloves and crystal embellished Amina Muaddi heeled sandals. Rocky wears a standout furry bomber jacket, red gloves, dark pants and brown boots.
Purple reign
The Fenty mogul stunned in a Marni shearling fur jacket, Dior x Rihanna sunnies and a metallic Saint Laurent mini skirt to match purple Balenciaga boots while her partner looked dapper in an overcoat and plaid scarf complete with denim pants and loafers.
Layered up
This winter, the fashion forward duo coordinated looks as they rocked cohesive scarf and balaclava looks respectively, with the Bad Gal herself in trendy Gucci x Balenciaga puffer and silk shawl pieces.
