Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sent a message during their very rare photographed outing in Los Angeles: They are unbothered by what the U.K. press is saying about them—or the fact that they have been told to vacate their U.K. home, Frogmore Cottage.
The couple was all smiles, Meghan holding Harry’s hand and grinning in an elegant camel coat, black heels, and leather leggings during their visit to private Hollywood club San Vicente Bungalows on Tuesday night.
The sighting comes amid news that King Charles has allegedly kicked the Duke and Duchess of Sussex out of their Frogmore Cottage home and plans to let his controversial brother Prince Andrew move in it. Frogmore Cottage was given to Harry as a wedding gift by the late Queen Elizabeth II. He and Meghan paid for renovations for the home.
Meghan and Harry’s spokesperson confirmed to People on March 1 that yes, they were asked to move out. “We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage,” the spokesperson said. Their rep did not confirm whether or not Andrew would be moving into their former home instead.
Meghan and Harry, of course, now reside in Montecito, California, with their two children Archie and Lili after stepping back from their working senior royal family roles for good in 2021. The two generated controversy with the royal family when they spoke candidly about their experience—including the racism and tabloid abuse they took in—while working for the royals in their Netflix documentary series and Harry’s memoir Spare. Their attendance and at some points, even invitation to, King Charles’ coronation later this year remains up in the air.
