We have to be honest, of all the awards ceremonies that happen each year, The BRITs has a special place in our hearts. Not only because it’s obviously hosted on our own turf here in London, but because it has served us some seriously unforgettable moments in the past. Moments that have become not just iconic but historic—think about that Union Jack dress Geri Halliwell wore for a Spice Girls performance back in 1997, or Madonna’s fateful cape incident (!)

Beyond what happens inside the awards, though, the drama always starts on the red carpet, with the talented attendees keen to bring some of the uniqueness of British style to their looks. With 2023’s awards show kicking off as we speak, I can confirm that this year’s outfits did not disappoint. We’ve got Harry Styles sporting one of the biggest catwalk trends for SS23—the corsage—and pulling it off with aplomb, of course. Lizzo continues her run of incredible red carpet looks, following last week’s Grammys appearance with another metallic number that brings all the best kind of drama. And Sam Smith showed their support for emerging British talent wearing a, let’s just say show-stopping, custom-made latex outfit by London College of Fashion graduate label, Harri. Then, there’s Shania Twain—who we didn’t know we needed to see on the BRITs red carpet in a luminescent yellow Saint Laurent dress until now.
